Shift Leader
Our manufacturing partner who is part of a larger group who supply to construction sector have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Shift Leader to join their team in Bedford on a permanent basis. This role is a newly created role and looking for someone who has a real ability to implement change and work with employees to reach an overall goal.
Shift Leader duties:
* To specify, cost and manage small to medium revenue projects.
* Conduct return to work interviews with staff following periods of absence and manage any ongoing staff absence issues.
* Manage staff holidays to ensure availability of trained staff to deliver the production plan.
* Conduct, and record, investigation interviews as necessary.
* Conduct disciplinary interviews when necessary.
* Ensure processes are followed to ensure quality standards and product packing and palletising specifications are adhered to.
* Coordinate periodic internal stock counts of key components and consumables.
* Liaise with production planner and coordinate activities with regard to incoming delivery components and loading of finished goods for dispatch.
* Accountable for the housekeeping and presentation of the production area. Manage staff to complete cleaning and stock management duties to ensure a high standard of housekeeping and safety is maintained.
Shift Leader requirement:
* Any relevant manufacturing or health and safety qualifications are desirable
* Experience leading a team in a manufacturing environment
* Having a background in industrial manufacturing or heavy machinery or Plastic manufacturing is ESSENTIAL
* Understands risk and COSHH assessments and adhere to their requirements.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, on rotating shifts 6am-2pm and 2pm-10pm and night shifts when required
