My client is a growing manufacturing business who produce high-precision components for a multitude of industries. They are looking for an experienced, hands-on Quality Manager who has strong leadership skills and the ability to shape and develop the quality department and processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within quality and would have worked within a precision manufacturing environment.

Job Description

Get ‘hands on’ and shae and develop the quality department and processes
Responsible for the control and management of all company Quality Control, Assurance and improvement activities
Be responsible for a small team of quality engineering staff (inspectors and quality engineers)
Drive the company systems and procedures
Get involved in root-cause analysis and audit preparation activities
Support all quality improvement activities throughout the business
Manage outgoing product quality, the in process quality 
 
Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Strong leadership/managerial skills
Demonstratable experience improving quality departments through people and processes
Previous experience working within precision manufacturing environments
Experience with a range of problem-solving techniques (5 why, 8D, Fish Bone etc.)
Well-versed hosting audits
Good communication skills (Both verbally and written) 
 
Desirable Skills/Experience/Qualifications

Relevant engineering qualification (HND/HNC, Time-Served, apprentice trained, degree etc)
Previous experience working within machining and/or welding environments
Strong knowledge of Health & Safet
