Machine Operative (Broadways)

Responsibilities:

* Working with the Production Manager and other press setters

* Ensuring the press meets production targets

* Previous experience of visual inspection as spotting defects is a requirement of this Operator role

* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping and work in a safe and orderly manner

* Previous experience of being involved within complex assembly processes.

* Previous experience as a Machine Operator or Press operator preferred but willingness to learn new systems essential

* Learning how to set tools in manual and progression presses

* Learn how to make tooling adjustments as needed for changeovers, different functions, or other varying needs of production

* Knowledge of safe machine practice standards,

* Perform 'first and last off' sample inspections to meet quality standards

* Contribute to the continuous improvement process

* Ensure that power presses operate safely and efficiently

* General housekeeping duties

* Follow all HSE requirements

Requirements:

* Previous experience of working within Engineering and or the Manufacturing sector

* Able to read and interpret technical drawings

* Ability to work in a team or under own merit

* Good problem-solving skills and good interpersonal and communication skills.

* Open to new ideas and experiences, seeks out learning opportunities

* Able to plan ahead and work in a systematic and organised way

* Has a clear focus and awareness of customer satisfaction and delivers a quality service or product to the agreed standards

* Experience of working in the Automotive/Engineering Industry (preferred)

* Experience of setting manual presses from 100 tonne up to 600 tonne (preferred)

* Experience of setting progression presses from 250 tonne up to 800 tonne (preferred)

* Previous mechanical experience (preferred)
