We are currently seeking a hands-on Manager to provide a dual role with responsibility for leading a team of Assembly Operatives in the day-to-day shop floor operation; plus, the installation of Tensator products throughout the UK to a diverse customer base. Allocation of time will be split depending on business need so flexibility to “get the job done” is a must.
Your key objective will be to ensure that products are manufactured and assembled in accordance with the Company’s strict quality standards and installed in a timely and quality-controlled manner whilst maintaining H&S legislation.
Key tasks:
* You will ensure that all products are manufactured, assembled or otherwise processed and packed to agreed quality standards.
* You will perform visual inspection of goods from any point during the manufacture and assembly process through to despatch of finished goods.
* You will ensure that KPI’s are achieved to include continual process review and implementation of any improvements required.
* You will carry out visual manufacture, assembly and packing process checks, record findings and report any issues to the Operations and Quality Managers.
* You will approve despatches by signing off paperwork to acknowledge that agreed quality standards have been met.
* You will carry out training on build methods and required quality standards for all operatives.
* You will review build methods and improve, streamline where required.
* Supervision and training of both in-house and sub-contractor activities as well as sourcing new sub-contractors to meet demand.
* Attend site meetings and carry out site surveys.
* To support the UK Operations Manager with the implementation and ongoing accreditation of ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 to include internal audits and upkeep of risk assessments to ensure controls are in place and standards are met both in-house and at customer sites.
* You will promote and ensure compliance of all relevant Health, Safety, Welfare and Environmental legislation including housekeeping of all areas.
* Liaise with Design and Engineering to update BOM’s, drawings as required.
* In conjunction with the Quality Coordinator you will write standard operating procedures for all production processes.

* Previous supervisory experience in a similar organisation.
* Strength of character to be able to effect and facilitate change.
* Quality control and procedure orientated.
* Ability to organise and prioritise workloads.
* Ability to promote best practice and good house-keeping and safety.
* Good attention to detail needed to pick up on issues which could have a more significant impact.
* Good leadership skills.
* Good communication skills.
* Quick to understand, learn and devise or apply ideas.
Qualifications and Specific Experience Requirements:
* Experience of on-site activities/processes within the shop-fitting industry or similar.
* Holder of CSCS card at Supervisor level.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety standards. Previous experience of ISO14001 and ISO45001 implementation an advantage.
* Proven ability to organise people, ensure all activities are completed and deadlines met.
* Driving Licence essential.
* Good PC Skills. ERP/MRP System experience essential
