Operations Manager

The Company

We're currently working on behalf of a leading food manufacturing business on the search for a new Operations Manager to manage the day to day running of a BRC grade A, 24/7 food manufacturing facility, producing high-quality products for the UK as well as export markets.

About the role

Overseeing production shifts, with Shift Managers as direct reports, challenging processes and practices and streamlining human and manufacturing resources
Ensuring on-time planned activities attained within the given capacity, minimising downtime, and maintaining set OEE
Responsible for on-time product shipping against customer demand, achieving and maintaining set service levels
Managing each shift to achieve set KPIs
Overseeing Engineering Department and set KPIs, with the Engineering manager as a direct report
Working alongside Lean Manufacturing Manager, drive continuous improvement in processes and quality to deliver set objectives in line with the budgeted activities
Understanding factors that affect efficiency (labour costs, waste, non-conformances etc)
Resource and capacity planning

Who are we looking for?

You will be an experienced food industry professional with strong leadership skills with proven experience in building strong teams. You will have a background in production management or operations management, and ideally have a sound understanding of engineering, as this function will be a direct report of the role.

You will be KPI driven, and ideally have a strong working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen

Experience from chilled and / or frozen food manufacturing is essential

Salary Details

In return for meeting the criteria, the successful candidate can expect a salary of £50,000-£60,000
