The job
The purpose of your role as NPD Process Technologist is to manage the trial and launch of new SKU’s, ensuring the smooth transition of products from development kitchen to full-scale production.
Key tasks:
* Following the approval of NPD concepts, ensure the successful transition and scale-up of new products from the kitchen to factory considering Technical, Operational, Commercial and Customer requirements.
* Work to a critical path and plan workload accordingly to projects and NPD critical paths.
* Working alongside the NPD team, ensure the development process is followed and that each stage is completed accurately, documented, and communicated.
* Highlight any processes that are concerning, require validating or are not possible in addition to considering if the product quality can be maintained through scale-up.
* Conduct any required factory trials to assess the feasibility of the product or equipment prior to presenting concepts to the customer.
* Support with organising all elements of the factory trial including raw material sign off, nutritional’s, shelf life, trial data capturing.
* Support with creating factory quality standards & customer Quality Assessment Sheets
* Monitor product performance against yield/waste and quality targets post-launch.
About you
Key skills and experience for the NPD Process Technologist job include:
* Formal food related qualification – HNC/HND/Degree in Food Science or equivalent is preferred.
* Qualifications – HACCP Level 3 (essential), Food Safety Level 3 (desirable).
* Food industry experience is essential – at least 2 years in an NPD/Process Technologist related role.
* Experience working with chilled/frozen foods and raw to cook experience is desirable.
* Experience in continuous process and product improvement.
* High level of numerical, statistical and presentation skills with an ability to analyse and interpret data.
* Results focused with excellent communication skills.
More details
The NPD Process Technologist job is based in Buckinghamshire and is paying £35,000 – £40,000 according to your experience.
The package includes 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus up to 6% matched pension.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm or 8 am to 4 pm. A degree of flexibility will be required to cover trials outside of normal working hours as the site operates 24/7.
