Materials Planner (food manufacturing exp)

Working in a planning department for a food manufacturer is like completing a never-ending Rubik’s cube.

You spend a countless of hours trying to organise multiple moving parts, hoping that you’ll find the perfect formula.

But no matter how hard you try, sometimes things just don’t seem to want to slot into place.

And you question why you’re even doing it in the first place.

That being said, when you find the solution and everything goes to plan, it’s an extremely satisfying feeling.

Before you know it a supplier / manager / other department grabs the cube from your hands, mixes it up and passes it back to you to start all over again.

Admittedly not the best analogy but you get the point I’m trying to make.

You may not realise it but throughout your career as a Materials Planner you’ll have built an immense amount of tenacity as well as skill.

Both of which you’ll need here.

It’s a fast-moving environment with over 300 SKU’s, requiring you to deal with multiple suppliers, internal stakeholders and solve problems daily. All in an attempt to create a smooth supply line of raw materials for the factory to operate on time, in full.

As the only Materials Planner within the team, you’ll be given free reign and encouraged to identify and implement improvements. Whether that be system or process related. Despite being the only Materials Planner, you’ll have plenty of support from the rest of the team and the Planning Manager.
