Key Responsibilities;
As a multi-disciplinary site Maintenance Engineer, supporting the Engineering and Facilities Department with the maintenance and repair of all process equipment, site services and infrastructure at Wafer Technology’s Milton Keynes substrate manufacturing facility
Maintenance and repair of production equipment and site services to minimise equipment downtime.
Installs, repairs and maintains all site process equipment following all electrical and mechanical safe codes of practice by using manuals, schematic diagrams and testing equipment
Installs, repairs and maintains all site services to ensure they meet and remain within all regulatory safety requirements and to minimise disruption of supply.
Laisse with external contractors and service engineers while they are on site repairing or servicing equipment.
Complete regular checks and inspections of all site services ensuring any discrepancies are reported.
Carry out minor repairs and improvements to site infrastructure
Complete fault finding, planned and preventative maintenance on plant and equipment to maximise equipment reliability and performance
Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs
Ensure that all department records are kept fully up to date, this supporting compliance against both internal external requirements
Respond to internal customer needs to maximise production uptime according to given priorities
Comply with site safety requirements and controls to ensure all work is carried out correctly and safely
Support the site Facilities Manager with any external auditing activity (for example relating to BSI ISO audits or EA/HSE regulatory inspections)
Qualifications and Experience;
Be a time served accredited apprentice or hold a formal engineering qualification (minimum NVQ)
Electrical and mechanical multi-skilled background; have experience of working on electrical and mechanical process equipment and site services within a manufacturing environment: 3+ years desirable
Experience of working with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS) would be highly desirable
Multi-disciplinary engineering skills (mechanical, electrical), demonstrable experience of fault finding, high level of attention to detail and able to schedule and plan workloads efficiently
