An exciting new technology site in the Milton Keynes area seeks to recruit a Logistics Specialist on a contract basis for a one-year period with possible extension or even permanent assignment.

Candidates will need to have the capability to manage shipments in a small logistics area and will be as happy hands on, as they are behind a desk, this is not a purely administration role.

The Logistics Specialist Role:  

– Shipping outgoing goods to sister companies
– Shipping test products to and from test houses (often dangerous goods with specific shipping requirements)
– Sourcing packaging for dangerous goods
– Develop planning system strategies to improve signals to the supply chain
– Monitor and adjust parameters in the planning system.
– Analyse and interpret Key Performance Indicators to identify areas for improvement and action plans.
– Identify potential supply chain failures and mitigate associated risks
– Use the logistics system to drive consistent planning signals across the supply chain

The Successful Logistics Specialist:

– Forklift truck license (essential)
– Driving license (essential)
– Internship or equivalent work experience in a logistics or other appropriate supply chain role as a minimum.
– Degree qualification in a logistics or supply chain discipline or experience to compensate in a relevant role.
– Candidates must be self-motivated and self-sufficient (essential)
– ADR training (Carriage of Dangerous goods by Road) and experience is preferred but not essential
– DGSA (Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor) would be a big plus but not essential

This role is assessed as within IR35 and as such you will need to be paid PAYE or via an Umbrella.

PAYE Rate = £19/hr
