Logistics & Planning Manager, Salary: up to £40k + excellent benefits package, Based; Iver, Buckinghamshire

We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics & Planning Manager to join the market leading provider of Portable cabins, Secure Storage Solutions, Modular buildings and associated products. The production site operation stores and prepares the units ready for hire or sale, refurbishing and modifying as required – this is an assembly / production / manufacturing process driven environment. Candidates will need to have proven experience in a Production Planning Manager / Materials Planning Manager / Logistics Planning Manager role.

Logistics & Planning Manager – The role:

To ensure the safety and welfare of the employees, plant & equipment and Yard area, drive continuous improvement in safety, efficiency, process & productivity and mitigate risks to executing plan.
To deliver an efficient Logistics operation for the site including the timely movement of Units to the correct location, Materials to the correct location in the optimum quantities and products to the correct location in the optimum quantities.
To review the National production requirement, assess in line with unit availability, delivery location and available resources and create local site planned activity on a monthly and weekly basis to ensure utilisation, availability by type and prepare supporting documentation.
To create a daily production plan that outlines the order in which units will be worked upon, and the associated staging bay number, hours required by type of labour (electrical, plumbing, cleaning, general etc.), and duration of tasks.
To provide strong leadership and develop the logistics / inventory / materials team / stock handling / value added processes to achieve both effective and efficient stock control management and on time supply to internal production facility.
Candidate requirements:

Experience in a similar role e.g. Planning Manager, Planning Logistics Manager, Materials Manager or similar
P+L understanding for material and labour cost control.
Demonstrable experience in building, leading and developing a team
Sound knowledge and practical experience of Lean fundamentals and continuous improvement within manufacturing
Experience of managing and driving a Health and Safety culture
Experience of delivering results against operational, service, quality, safety and cost targets
