HSE Advisor – 6 Month Fixed Term (View to Perm)
£28,000 – £32,000
**Food & Drink/ FMCG/ Manufacturing Experience needed**
The HSE Advisor will provide support to the site leadership team to ensure effective management of the HSE Management System with guidance from the HSE Manager. To drive a consistent approach across all HSE activities whilst working with all departments to ensure compliance. To liaise with the HSE expert team and the Senior HSE Manager to ensure consistency and best practice between sites.
Key Responsibilities of the role:
-Working to maintain the requirements set out in the Company HSE Management System, in accordance to site requirement and group recommendations.
-Technical support, advice and guidance to managers on HSE legal compliance and best practice -Co-ordination of site Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental Permit including:
-Review environmental aspects and assisting with development of control measures
-EMS & permit documentation, control and records
-Internal audit schedule, undertaking audits and aligning on timely corrective actions
-Providing support, assistance and guidance to Departments on:
-Risk assessment programmes
-HSE audit and inspection programmes
-Development of Standard Operating Procedures
-Incident investigations
-Change management
Responsibility for:
-HSE consultation and communication
– HSE performance management
-HSE Objectives o HSE Audit schedules
-Emergency Preparedness
-HSE non-conformances and close out
– PPE requirements
-Responsibility for the Plant Waste Strategy including “zero to landfill” ensuring that optimal revenue is obtained for all waste created:
-Maintenance of Waste Stream Matrix
-Duty of Care records and audits
– Liaison with waste management providers
Management of site HSE KPI’s including:
-Accident statistics
– Environmental Permit Annual Returns
-Environmental KPI’s
-Liaise with plant HR Business Partner on Occupational Health matters.

Qualifications/Education/Training:
-Minimum GCSE Level educated in English and Maths
-NEBOSH Certificate in Health and Safety as a minimum Formal Environmental qualification e.g. IEMA Diploma in Environmental Management
Experience:
-Experience of working in a busy manufacturing and engineering environment
– 3+ Years experience at HSE as an Advisor Experience of empowering others to excel in HSE performance
Knowledge:
Up to date knowledge of UK HSE legislation and its practical application
