Refresco UK is part of Refresco the world's largest independent soft drinks manufacturer.
Refresco have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment Manager to join the Plant Leadership Team at our Milton Keynes canning site. This is a new role created due to growth.
Reporting to the Factory Manager you will provide full support to the operations team to ensure effective leadership and management of the safety programme with the ultimate aim of delivering the UK’s HSE improvement agenda.
You will be responsible for driving forward the HSE management systems on site and will be part of a team of HSE Managers working across our UK sites to ensure consistency is achieved and best practice is shared.
About the Role:
Your main responsibilities as the Health & Safety Manager at Milton Keynes Refresco:
* Maintain and continuously improve the site HSE procedures to ensure robust processes are in place
* Provide technical support, advice and guidance to managers on HSE legal compliance and best practice
* Work closely with the Engineering department to deliver capital projects
* Play an active part of yield/waste reduction on site with the production team, and play an active part in the management of the Refresco Sustainability programme
* Actively promote a health & safety culture to ensure participation is across all levels
* Co-ordination of site Environmental Permit including: Review environmental aspects and assisting with development of control measures
* EMS & Permit documentation, control and records
* Internal Audit Schedule, undertaking audits and aligning on timely corrective actions
* Environmental performance reporting for Environmental Permit
* Undertaking BAT reviews in conjunction with Departments
* Providing support, assistance and guidance to Departments on: Risk assessment programmes
* Emergency Response
* HS&E audit and inspection programmes
* Development of HS&E operating procedures
* Change Management
* Incident investigations
* Ownership and Management of the Plant’s: HSE Objectives
* HS&E training programmes, providing an education and training resource for all operators in key HSE tasks
* EHS Audit schedules
* HS&E non-conformances and close out
* Employee liability claim
* PPE requirements
* Development, delivery, communication and education of site HS&E KPI’s including: Accident statistics
* Environmental Permit Annual Returns
* Environmental KPI’s
About You
You will have health & safety and environmental experience ideally working within an FMCG / food manufacturing environment, with up to date knowledge of UK HSE legislation. A NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety or equivalent or currentkly working towards the NEBOSH Diploma is a requirement.
You will understand the principles of risk management and have extensive experience with integrated management systems that are aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
You will need to influence and engage others to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams and build effective working relationships. Experience of designing and implementing HSE initiatives and developing training materials would also be beneficial.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is dependent on experience. We also offer an annual bonus incentive and a good company pension scheme, personal private health, 3 x basic salary life assurance, plus 25 days holiday in addition to bank holidays (with the option to purchase additional holidays), and free on site parking.
Working hours are 38 hours per week
Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:00pm
