Our client are a massive national retail chain looking for a Technologist to join their head office based in Leicestershire.

This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone looking to join a household name business.

The hours:

* 08:30 – 17:00, Monday – Friday

The job:

* Advising the Buying team on the safety and legal requirements for food products

* Being responsible for the QA sign-off on all food products and artworks

* Ownership of product development processes, managing critical path for timely product launches

* Advising on improvements for existing products

* Developing and maintaining supplier approval processes to ensure due diligence with regards to traceability, accreditations, specifications, HACCP etc.

* Keeping up-to-date with industry advances, legislation and best practice. Ensure that up-to-date knowledge and information across all functions is maintained

* Liaising with external laboratories, our Far East sourcing team and suppliers

* Dealing with any non-conformances including investigations of customer complaints, queries from external bodies, out-of-specification products and process and providing resolutions.

What’s on offer:

* £25,000 – £30,000 salary

* On-site parking

The candidate:

* 1 years’ experience in a Technical or QA role within food retail

* Degree in food science or related qualifications
