Working hours:

Day: 4 on 4 off 12 hours shift (06:00 – 18:00)

Night: 4 on 4 off 12 hours shift (18:00 – 06:00)

JOB PURPOSE:

To play a leading part within the production/support team to help achieve the daily plan whilst adhering to procedures, rules and processes set out by management and other key functions.

To work in a safe and time effective manner in accordance with health and safety standards and to assist the supervision and management team in ensuring food safety, hygiene and quality standards are achieved at all times.

KEY ACTIVITIES:

* To operate tools, machines and equipment for which training has been provided (where required) and to assist in the manufacturing process of all products.

* To ensure the achievement of the daily production plan and communicate shortfalls and problems to the relevant person in a timely manner.

* Adhere to all rules, processes and procedures in relation to the work process and conduct as set out by the production management team and other key disciplines such as Health and Safety, Human Resources, Technical and Hygiene.

* Ensure that product is produced within foods safety, hygiene and quality standards and that any anomalies are reported to your line manager and that correct procedures are followed.

* Keep the work area clean and tidy and free from debris and waste so as to reduce the risk of accident, and to operate within food safety and hygiene regulations of the site.

* Ensure that all cleaning tasks are carried out in a timely and safe manner

* Ensure that cleaning tasks are carried out to the correct specification as per the Cleaning

* Instruction Card – inclusive of the Lock Off Procedure if required

* Ensure that the correct chemicals are used and at the correct strength

* Ensure that all equipment is cleaned and returned to the correct storage area

* To report to your Team Leader / Supervisor / Manager immediately any issue which prevents meeting the above requirements

* To ensure control of waste products ex-factory i.e. food wastes, packaging waste, engineering waste, office waste, general waste, on a daily bases.

* To load and unload vehicles as and when requested.

* To complete any other tasks required within the department as requested or directed by management, e.g. assisting with staff sales.

* Carry out work in a safe manner so as not to endanger yourself or a colleague.

* Complete all paperwork as instructed accurately and within time specifications

* To be aware of the qualified first aider’s and the first aid procedure.

* Ensure you are aware of all fire exits in all areas you may work and be sure to understand the emergency evacuation procedure.

* Any reasonable request as instructed by your line manager, including working within other departments when required.

* Complete daily plans

* To respect and honour the sentiment of the Cranswick ethical policies and codes of conduct, when interacting with your colleagues at all times

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

* Reliability and good timekeeping

* Good Knowledge of basic food hygiene / health and safety principles.

* Comfortable to work in a chilled environment and handle raw and cooked meat.

* Good Literacy & numeracy levels

* Conscientious

* Able to work in a team environment

* Ability to communicate, understand and follow instructions.

* Willingness to learn

* Lead by example
