Factory Supervisor
* Permanent
* £27,000 + Fantastic benefits package

* Shifts 8am – 5pm
We are currently looking to recruit a Factory Supervisor
Duties and responsibilities as Factory Supervisor
Management responsibility for non-technical staff to include; Distribution of workload, Performance Reviews, Disciplinary Actions, Return to Work Interviews, Holiday/Absence Approval & Training and Development
Leading by example establish a positive attitude towards all aspects of Health & Safety whereby the aim is to create a culture in which safety and environmental responsibility is a key priority
Perform a key role in the assessment, implementation, monitoring and training in relation to site Health and Safety policies, procedures, and ethos
Ensure company Health and Safety policies and procedures are adhered and improve working environment by effective risk reduction
Ensure good standard of housekeeping by maintaining a ‘Clean as you Go’ approach
Good understanding and implementation of safe systems of work and risk assessment
Ensure that all employees and visitors to the site adhere to the factory rules, policies, and standard operating procedures
In conjunction with the Production Director and Production Manager, you will need to fully understand the customer, stock, and delivery requirements specific to the Factory
From this you will be responsible for communicating, planning, and monitoring workload of operators and warehouse staff
In conjunction with shift supervisors allocate staff based on machine loading / priorities and deal with any personnel issues that are raised
Monitor progress against the production plan through Daily production meetings and review factory performance measures.
Ensure that all scrap generated within the Factory is recorded accurately. Along with the
Production Manager, put in place measures to actively control and reduce scrap.
Communicate current factory performance and targets through meetings and notice board displays.
Ensure that all staff working within the Factory adhere to the correct procedures and standards.
Any other task deemed reasonable for the role.
Prioritise problems from factory data where necessary organise cross functional teams to identify and eliminate root cause. Measure and monitor effectiveness of corrective actions.
Use of 8d analysis
The job holder will help drive improvement projects from evaluation, implementation through to measuring effectiveness against agreed targets.
Adherence to all quality-controlled documents, policies and procedures including SWP, SOP and WI’s In conjunction with the Quality Staff ensure parts are manufactured to the correct standards and component quality
Completion of controlled documentation to include: – Production Change Reporting (first off’s, last off’s process changes etc.) – Hold Notice Corrective Actions – Line Shutdown Records – PM records
Effective time management and organisation skills, focus and communication are required.
Communicate and work with all teams including management, operators, maintenance, and quality to meet goals with the overall running of the factory
Liaise with and support external contractors
Liaise with customers and suppliers
Experience/Qualifications required:
* Previous Supervisory experience
* Good personal skills and a flexible approach to management
* Experience of working in a similar fast-paced production environment.
* Good analytical and practical skills
* A logical and methodical approach to their duties
* They are also required to complete suitable First Aid Training to perform First Aider responsibility.
* Factory Supervisors will be expected to support and work at all company sites when required.
