A FMCG manufacturing company are looking for an Environmental Officer. Working within the legal team you’ll be responsible for all aspects of environmental product compliance and environmental sustainability initiatives. You will have experience working within a environmental role with strong understanding of environmental compliance and analysing data.
As an Environmental Officer your day-to-day responsibilities will consist of.
Investigating the impact analysis of product environmental legislation for compliance and sustainability systems.
Managing the Company’s environmental management systems in relation to product compliance and sustainability initiatives.
Evaluating the likely environmental impacts on existing and proposed projects or developments including the economic burden, compliance requirements and sustainability strategy.
Monitoring environmental impact and ensure product adheres to company & customer requirements as well as any UK, EU and US legislation
Preparing and implementing the necessary policies and processes related to environmental and sustainability standards and up to date UK, EU and US legislation.
Formalising processes, procedures and responsibilities for achieving Company policies, objectives and continuous improvement using systems and economic analysis
Administering the environmental auditing systems internally and externally.
Providing internal training to support environmental audits internally and externally.
An exciting opportunity for an Environmental Officer with the following.
Degree or equivalent qualification within Environmental & Sustainability with experience working within a fast paced manufacturing or supply chain environment.
Ability to provide technical and regulatory competence and guidance.
Knowledge and practical experience of compiling a carbon footprint and other environmental data.
Problem solving: Able to use a range of methods to identify and solve issues.
Excellent interpersonal, organisation and effectively communicate orally and in writing, both internally and externally.
Able to work on own initiative and have a motivated self-learning style.
