Main Objective of the Role
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist role is to lead and execute TPM utilising best practice manufacturing, Lean and Six Sigma methods to deliver tangible and quantified bottom-line improvements to the P&L. This includes performing business assessment analysis, planning, facilitation, execution of kaizen events, and sustainment through new standard work practices and procedures. The CI Specialist will drive a cultural transformation across the business by building cross functional matrix teams and driving an improvement culture.
Profile
The will individual we be a rising star with the potential to move into a management role within 2 year. They will be dynamic with a deep knowledge of both molding and continuous improvement. They must be a data driven decision maker.
Key Responsibility Areas
* Continuous Improvement process owner. Identifies continuous improvement projects both independently and through the engagement of the operations organization.
* Project manages approved Continuous Improvement programs by coordinating necessary human and operational resources and setting and implementing budgetary and timing controls to achieve chartered goals.
* Manages in-house training on CI tools and methodologies and guides employees.
* Leads the OEE improvement & scrap reduction teams to achieve OEE & scrap targets.
* Leads the scrap reduction team to achieve year on year scrap saving targets
* Trains team members in lean & six sigma and leads the implementation.
* Utilises Kaizen rapid improvement teams to resolve short term production issues as they occur.
* Value stream maps all processes to identify and then eliminate waste.
* Prepares weekly report on company activities to Operations Director and the management team.
* Develops standard work on best practices and update system on identified enhancements.
* Lead continuous improvement project teams for projects within plant operations.

* Provides technical expertise to company on statistics, Six Sigma & Lean methodology, tools and practices.
* Technical understanding of manufacturing
* Proven analytical and decision-making skills
* Proven experience of designing and implementing operational policies and processes
* Strong and thorough understanding of project management, automation and plastic injection moulding.
* Proven ability and successful track record of leading projects, engineering operations, and delivering quantitative & qualitative results.
* Black belt in lean & or six sigma
* Educated to degree level although strong experience supported by relevant qualifications is seen as equivalent.

* Experience of high volume, fast paced manufacturing, and logistics environment
* Legal and industry requirements
* Understanding of health and safety
* Recognised management qualification (CMS, DMS, MBA)
