Job Description
Joining us as a Quality Assurance Manager, you will implement, administer and enforce Environmental, Food Safety & Quality policies, processes and standards required for the Group to operate in accordance with both the laws that govern compliance and quality standards.
Responsible for our southern depots, there will be a requirement for regular travel across the region.
Key Duties;
* Provide advice and guidance to relevant departments on food safety.
* Oversee the contracts for Pest control and Waste management
* Compile and create client and internal reports for carbon footprint and environmental performance and ensure continued compliance with CRC and CCA legislation
* Support the groups with Sedex- Ethical trading platform registration
* Working with Legal, HR and other stakeholders, engage with regulatory bodies, as required, to ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory or best practise requirements for environmental and food safety legislation
* Support the management and development of management system initiatives within the standards framework to improve working practice and processes.
* Control the circulation of all management system documentation relevant to our standards.
* Ensure conformance to legal & regulatory obligations, procedures and continual improvement in line with the requirements of accredited standards.
* Work with Client & depots to ensure technical requirements are met.
* Work with site representatives to manage quality Management and Operating Procedures including all Hygiene Operations, allergen management and pest control.
* Support the sites to ensure the attainment of BRCGS and any other certificated standards
* Ensure each depot’s compliance representative is adequately trained & supported to carry out their duties with regards to Environmental & Food safety & quality culture
* Responsible for ensuring the food Safety & Quality Assurance procedures are complied to at all depots.
Qualifications
-A sound working knowledge of company processes and standards within the business and demonstration of practical application.
-Strong knowledge in Environmental management, GFSI standards (BRCGS) , Organic Standards and Internal auditing
-HARA /HACCP level 2 or above
-Effective communicator with the ability to persuade and influence senior management.
-Flexible, enthusiastic and positive approach.
-Able to cope under pressure and prioritise demands.
-Ability to deliver effective presentations and training courses.
-Customer driven, collaborative and hands-on approach able to identify pragmatic, business-focused solutions to areas of non-compliance.
-Ability to work independently on own initiative.
-Ability to interpret and apply Food safety & Quality legislation and policies
-Ability to analyse customer needs and make recommendations based on sound business knowledge and commercial acumen
-Experience of a fast-moving distribution environment.
-IT literate – Microsoft Office applications.
-Cost management and ability to work within tight budgetary controls
