Role Summary
I am currently recruiting for a Programme Manager within an international sustainable energy business headquartered in the UK. They develop, construct, own and operate premium solutions for critical energy applications. My client is breaking boundaries to achieve its ambitions to deliver sustainable energy and move the needle on climate change. They have delivered the most technically advanced hybrid solar projects ever built in the UK and installed more solar capacity in 2019 than any other business in the UK. They are now on a mission to make electric vehicle charging as convenient as petrol refuelling, with a national network of ultra-fast, dependable Electric Forecourts® that provide drivers with the confidence to go electric.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and co-ordinate the detailed and technical design of each Hub to ensure a class leading and optimum design to meet brand requirements and business long term objectives
* Manage and co-ordinate all designated hub construction projects from start to finish in partnership with Framework Director
* Organise the schedule of works and driving the completion of key milestones
* Work closely with key internal stakeholders across Development, Engineering, Commercial, Finance and Procurement to deliver the required technical solutions to the client on time and to budget
* Manage and co-ordinate project handover process to O&M team, ensuring that all predefined requirements are met, not limited to but including quality, inspection, and test plans for the site to be efficiently and effectively handed over and opened to the public
* Relationship lead with Framework contractors for nominated Hub projects, not limited to but including Principal Contractor, Independent Connections Provider, Principal Designer
* Identify and apply resolution continuously to any required changes to the program, highlighting to Senior Management and relevant Stakeholders of any cost or safety risk to the business
* Provide timely weekly and monthly reporting on schedule and critical issues to senior management
* Work closely with appointed project Principal Designer to ensure all pre-construction and construction phase CDM regulatory requirements are documented and adhered to
* Maintain regular communication and attend meetings with clients where required, and/or their representatives, to inform them of progress on the project
* Work with Engineering and ICP to ensure all new electrical installations requirements meet full compliance with BS: 7671 (18th Edition), IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Chargers (3rd Edition) and all relevant legislation (H&S, HERS, APEA)
* Manage and coordinate timely delivery of all necessary equipment to each hub site in accordance with the agreed schedule of works and in accordance with site specific requirements
* Adhere to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes including anti-bribery policy and Environmental and Quality Management System (compliant with ISO 9001 and 14001)
Skills/ Experience Required:
* Proven experience and knowledge of deployment and delivery of Civil/ Electrical EV charging projects
* Project Management qualifications (MP advanced skills desirable)
* Experience of managing contractors and sub-contractors along with construction sites
* Experience of Project Management processes and procedures
* Advanced planning and organisational skills
* Previous experience working under The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
* Handles pressure well under tight deadlines
* Cost and time problem solver
* Good communicator with ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-changing environment
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Experience of delivering High Voltage High Power charging hubs is desirable
