We have an immediate requirement for an Interim Commercial Category Manager. Home based Contract, naturally, with some travel to HQ in Buckinghamshire.
Negotiable day rate, we expect £250 – 350 per day plus expenses, depending upon employment status
Interim Assignment – 3 – 6 months
The client: Category Market Leader in Food and Drink/FMCG
FMCG retailer accounts background required for this immediate role
Do you have a proven track record of building successful working relationships with FMCG retailers and delivering measurable improvements in brand performance?
You will build strong, insight driven, category relationships with customers, facilitating the Category Strategy and optimising the distribution & sale of FMCG products.

Your role:
•Work with the Head of Category & Insight to embed with core customers
-Focus on metrics such as Rate, Value, distribution and share of market product space in the retailers
-Responsible for sales optimization of a particular group of products.
•Take a proactive approach with category planning and ensure plans are appropriately aligned with the overall business commercial strategy.
-Lead the range review process with core grocery customers
-Recommendations based on category insight and implement retailer specific category plans
•Identify category wide issues & opportunities and communicate them to relevant stakeholders within the business
•Lead retailer projects as required e.g., NPD launches and stock control and distribution
•Focuses on how to grow the category through joint planning, understanding how the retailer operates, utilising the marketing mix.
•Acts a voice of the retailer internally, is a key influencer internally, plays a key role in the annual account planning process
Is this you?
•Educated to degree level with Category Management experience in a FMCG environment
•Understanding of Shopper Insight, Trade Marketing and Strategic Planning
•A proven track record of building successful working relationships with FMCG retailers and delivering measurable changes in brand performance
•User of Nielsen/IRI EPOS & panel data
