Shenley Leisure Centre was opened in 1991 with a vision and mission to deliver an inclusive range of Health and Wellbeing initiatives to the local community whilst providing a clean, safe, and happy leisure experience.
Shenley Leisure Centre have an exciting opportunity for a Duty Manager to join the team. We are looking for an experienced Duty Manager or an ambitious and talented Supervisor who is passionate about the Leisure & Hospitality industry.
The Role
As a Duty Manager you will manage the day-to-day operation of the Leisure Centre and Bar & Café. You will have experience of managing a team, be highly organised, comfortable working on your own initiative and able to thrive in a busy multi-tasking environment.
As the Duty Manager you will be expected to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Centre whilst achieving commercial and social objectives. The Duty Manager is key in the delivery of customer service excellence and staff satisfaction. You will need to be driven and dedicated to managing a busy and demanding workload. Your strengths will include the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a small team to ensure excellence across all operational areas and to ensure a high quality of customer service. You will need to have experience of taking responsibility for staff, buildings, stock & cash, and in particular the effective delivery of operational functions. Some experience of licensed bar functions is desirable but not essential. You will need to have good written and excellent verbal communication skills Have excellent verbal, written and IT communication skills. You must be able to drive income in all areas of the business and create an environment where colleagues can achieve their full potential and have experience in performance management and HR policy. You will need to demonstrate exceptional time management and deadline compliance. A willingness to adopt a "hands on" flexible approach to all areas of the operation is essential.
You must be flexible as this key position involves working on a rotating shift pattern to include weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
