Systems Engineer – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Milton Keynes, Linford Wood

DRS Data Services Limited, the largest provider of academic qualifications in UK schools and colleges, is seeking a Systems Engineer. As the leading provider of e-Assessment software and services, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support for the implementation and operations of DRS customer facing applications.
The Role
Reporting to the Cloud Infrastructure Architect, you will work closely with another Systems Engineer, the Infrastructure Engineer, and the Database Administrator as well as our Software Development teams. You will be a go to person for important installation and commissioning duties, including: maintaining lifecycle of computers, storage and network infrastructure as required to support corporate and production requirements.
You will also have database administration and technical operational support duties, including implanting system monitoring and alerting for the application estate, alongside ensuring that application health state is monitored and the defined user groups receive appropriate alerting in the event of failure or degradation of service.
The Person
To be considered for this role you will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an IT-related discipline, as well as possessing Microsoft Qualifications in Cloud Administration and Server technologies. The successful candidate must also have excellent knowledge or understanding of: Cloud Infrastructure (Azure), database structures, Windows Server technologies, Firewall and switch configuration, MPLS, IPSec VPN, PPTP, and SSLVPN technology.
Experience in: Active Directory, DHCP,DNS and networking such as switches and firewall technologies, Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and SSRS, 64Bit windows, SQL and Azure are also essential. Experience of coaching and mentoring other team members would be an advantage.
