Systems Consultant

Full time/ permanent

Hours of work: Monday – Thursday, 9am – 5:30pm and Friday, 9am – 4:15pm. (although some flexibility will be required due to nature of role)

Location: based between Corby and Milton Keynes offices.

Salary to be discussed at screening.

Ascendant Recruitment are excited to be recruiting on behalf of their esteemed client, who is an industry leader in their field. This role will be predominately office based but will also allow for some flexibility for working from home. You will be based between two of their sites; Corby and Milton Keynes, so you must be prepared to travel to and between sites when required.

The successful person will be thoroughly proficient with SAP, will be comfortable dealing with internal colleagues at all levels, can work efficiently in a small team of 5 and will have the ability to operate at a strategic level.

Some of the key responsibilities of the Systems Consultant:

Customer Consultancy: Work with our customers (trade partners) and relevant internal teams to understand their requirements, create detailed specifications for Global IT to deliver against and project manage the rollout of solutions.
Business consultancy: Advise and support the local business by understanding their requirements and implement global products (wherever possible) to fulfil. Project manage and support the rollout of solutions.
Business process improvements: Support the business by understanding local processes (especially where supporting customers) identifying improvements and opportunities to standardize. Project manage and support the rollout of new processes / solutions and change requests for existing systems.
Project management: Manage the rollout of HQ initiatives (locally) and project manage locally driven business projects.
Systems support: Work with the wider eBusiness team to ensure the continuous operation of all company systems
Manage and Nurture Relationships: Help to build a strong relationship between the systems team and the rest of the business. Form a close working relationship with international IT teams.

The checklist for the Systems Consultant is:

Graduate (or of graduate calibre) with a degree in a relevant discipline ideal but not essential
Minimum 5 years SAP and systems experience, ideally including a full implementation cycle.
Project Management experience and relevant qualifications
Knowledge and skills in SAP, Project Management, EDI, Systems Integration, Process improvements & optimisation
