System Architect/Senior Devops – Milton Keynes – Circa £65,000 – Global Engagement Solution Brand

Robert Walters is looking to appoint a Systems Architect to the senior team within its IT function. This is a hands-on role for someone able to give technical leadership to the development team in the UK working with MS.Net frameworks.

The Systems Architect has overall responsibility for the technical design and documentation of our client platforms which must deliver the very best in engagement, performance and usability. The role requires an extensive knowledge of the Microsoft development stack and technologies that surround and support the .Net framework, with focus on best practice and the latest design patterns.

This role gives particular focus on the design and approach used by developers on both new and legacy projects to ensure that we achieve a high level of consistency and productivity through code re-use.

Principal Responsibilities:

To include, but not be limited to, the following:

Lead project design and architecture on new projects.
Review design and advise on approach with selected legacy projects.
Lead project design and architecture with new developments on the rewards catalogue.
Ensure that all current coding standards are communicated, enforced and are aligned with latest architecture and design patterns.
Have a detailed knowledge of the latest design patterns and implement as
appropriate into solution designs.

Provide developer roadmaps to support training on latest architecture, design patterns and standards.
Run workshops to demonstrate solutions architecture and best practice.
Implement code review strategy on both new and legacy projects
Provide technical input and high level estimates to the sales team on new client projects.
Review developer estimates and work with Development Manager on improving estimate quality.
Provide input into department strategies with focus on technical delivery.
Keep up to date with latest Microsoft development trends and best practice, implement changes where appropriate.
Liaise with NWS on hosting infrastructure
Provide design documentation to developer where appropriate and lead project delivery on client projects.
Mentor developers on good coding standards e.g. SOLID principals.
Support the TFS infrastructure including, TFS Build Server, TFS Code Reviews, TFS Continuous Deployment – Octopus Deploy.
Work with Development Manager to ensure developers applying the latest security and OWASP standards.
Input into technical strategy with CTO and Development ManagerDevelopment:

Coding complex web based solutions
Provide documentation at all stages of the project delivery to support the build of the solution
Unit and System testing of code
Interpret business requirements and map to a technical solution
