Systems Administrator – AWS, SQL, Devops – Milton Keynes – Major US brand…

Leading U.S giant seek to hire a Support Analyst / Systems Administrator to join their UK division in Milton Keynes.

Details as follows:

Responsibilities:

• Monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair.

• Ensures that system downtimes are addressed within SLA and fixed at the root cause.

• Works with vendors when needed, to support network, storage, and server infrastructure.

• To provide high quality 2nd and 3rd level infrastructure support .

• To provide high quality 2nd and 3rd level application support.

• To oversee development and deployment of operational toolsets. • To own the planning for and deployment of software patches and upgrades.

• Own the network infrastructure including security, monitoring, and alerts. • On Call Rotation. • Perform Software releases for Dev/QA/UAT/Production. • Work closely with DevOps on AWS and Serverless initiatives.

Requirements:

• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline; 4-7 years’ experience with Microsoft server, UNIX/LINUX Server and Microsoft IIS and SQL Server technologies.

• Hands-on experience implementing clustered and load-balanced technology.

• Experience with cloud computing – especially with AWS

• Strong knowledge of networking technologies, in particular DNS, switching, routing and firewall configuration.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

• Passionate customer service orientation with extensive experience in collaborating multiple stakeholders.

• Technically minded problem solver with strong project management skills.

• Willingness to take ownership, be held accountable and achieve a good outcome for all stakeholders.

• Effective team player who is able to develop a positive culture, championing a team environment.

• Able to work with a diverse array of people, challenging in a non-confrontational way and builds successful working relationships.

• Display a sound business judgment and decision making capability.
