We are expanding our Supply Chain engineering team and need an additional Supply Chain Engineer to help meet the demands of our new product development and maintenance of existing products.
Our supply chain is global, and it will be your role to ensure that there are no barriers to IDEAL’s Contract Electronic Manufacturers and suppliers shipping product on time and in full, to cost, whilst maintaining product quality standards.
The Supply Chain Engineer will get involved in:
* Day to day management of IDEAL’s CEM’s and other key suppliers.
* Management of the change / concession system from design to our manufacturers.
* Management of the product build standard system. Updating production/service test specifications as and when required.
* Ensuring products meet compliance requirements, e.g., RoHS/Li-Ion labelling/conflict minerals.
* Management of production test equipment at CEM’s & service centres to ensure no downtime.
* Providing support for service – testing, service price lists, spares etc.
* Providing support to third party warehouse when products require configuration, updates to stock etc.
* Cost control of the product range and accessories through world-wide sourcing.
* Monitoring and continuously improve quality (through KPI’s) – both in factory & returns from field.
* Managing suppliers for any part obsolescence, source replacements as appropriate, perform last time buys.
* Maintaining control of worldwide obsolete, slow moving or last time buy component stock.
* Identifying potential single source component weaknesses – both for price & availability.
* Performing and maintain supplier audits.
There will also be opportunities to get involved in new product development.
What are we looking for?
We need a proven track record in Electronic Engineering, you will have a minimum of an HNC in Electronic Engineering or be qualified to degree level. You will also be able to demonstrate least 3 years-experience in an electronics production engineering department or in an electronics subcontracting engineering establishment / the manufacture of medium volume SMT/PTH electronic assembly and modern production processes.
We are also looking for experience in electro – mechanical procurement/purchasing in a global environment and are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have experience of experience of process improvement/LEAN principles/Six Sigma.
Our Supply Chain Engineering team manage multiple projects and therefore it is essential that you are able to work flexibly, and calmly under pressure and communicate effectively.
