Solution Architect – Financial Service – Milton Keynes

Are you looking for your next step in your career? Robert Walters are working in partnerships with a global financial services organisation. You will report into the Head of Development and Support for the delivery of design work and implementation of large and complex systems, software/Web development and the interfaces between them. This position will drive adherence to standards, processes and policies and create architecture documentation. You will play a key part in this role in setting the architecture of in-house-developed applications. This includes working effectively across technical domains, with Enterprise/Security Architects, Information Architects, Application Architects and other technical resources.

Key Responsibilities

Definition of the solution architecture for the applications and related systems.
Drive forward pragmatic and creative technical solutions which improve productivity and efficiencies in key business processes/services.
Develop high level and detailed designs for assigned development initiatives and conduct Design Reviews with management and development teams.
Management of resources in order to plan, estimate and carry out programmes of development work to time, budget and quality targets.
Must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and negotiate and collaborate effectively.
Perform technical due diligence on third-party products prior to integration.
Make recommendations about platform and technology adoption, including database servers, application servers, libraries, and frameworks.
The ability to motivate and enthuse staff in achieving project, departmental and team objectives.
Liaise regularly with the Digital Communications team in planning and support of Web developments.
Specific duties will vary from time to time in line with the business needs.

Key Skills

Excellent knowledge of exploiting Microsoft Azure for delivery of cloud-native solutions
A strong background in Microsoft technology; experience of building scalable, resilient and secured applications using Microsoft .Net, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, Dynamics 365 and Power Platform.
Exposure to and some experience of working with structured architecture approaches (e.g., TOGAF).
Experience of working in collaborative teams.
Experience of Agile / Scrum methodology.
Desirable experience of Microsoft Azure solution architect certification.
Desirable background/experience in supporting technologies such as WCF and architectural patterns such as SOA.
Desirable DevOps background/experience.
Working experience of Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) – Backlogs, Git Repositories, Builds and Releases)
