Software Test Engineer

A new opportunity to join a Software Testing team where you will play a key role in helping to maintain the quality of the solutions by performing ad-hoc and structured testing, creating, and executing test plans, authoring new tests and recording test results and identifying and recording defects.

The Software Test Engineer will be responsible for the testing of products, ensuring problem solving and resolution actions are implemented effectively and analysing user stories and defining as well as test cases to ensure full test coverage and stay aligned to the automation team. You will be required to review project specifications, working with the team to understand requirements, design, implementation, acceptance criteria, user stories and estimating stories as part of an Agile way of working.

This is a full time, permanent role paying a salary of up to £45,000 dependant on experience.

There will be a blended approach to home / office working with the client's head office being based Milton Keynes.

Responsibilities:

Executing tests and validating test results as defined in the test procedures.
Identifying, analysing, and documenting any defects discovered during testing.
Developing software test tools, automated test scripts, performing load tests or simulations.
Working with Software Operations / Training and Documentation teams to handover knowledge.
Ensure that opportunities to improve process efficiency are identified and communicated.

Skills and Experience required:

Experience with test case management systems, such as Zephyr, HP Quality Centre.
Experience with the Jira issue management system.
Installing and configuring virtual environments, such as Nutanix, Hyper-V, VMware etc.
Experience of test automation development (e.g., TestComplete, Selenium, Katalon Studio).
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI/ReadyAPI or similar
