Software Developer in Test (Python)
Location: High Wycombe Head Office / Hybrid
Term: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: £30000-£45000 pa, experience dependent
Are you a Python Developer with experience of Automated Testing?
Are you passionate and knowledgeable about music, audio technology, and recording?
If you have answered yes to both of the above, we'd love to hear from you! We are expanding our Automation Team, and we are looking for someone to join this group of dedicated Software Developers, helping us to create the test code that supports the development of our industry-leading audio interfaces.
What you will be doing:
Working within the QA Team, and reporting to the QA Manager, you will be working as part of a small team of Software Developers in Test. Your aim will be to create and augment automated testing solutions that make QA activity on new products under development more repeatable and efficient. You will develop clear, well documented, and maintainable code, following established good development practices.
You will work closely with the rest of the QA Team, as well as Software and Firmware Developers from across our Engineering Department.
Key activities include:
* Designing and developing Python test software
* Participating in code reviews
* Providing guidance around automation good practice as part of project planning
* Maintaining current test tools
* Researching new technologies and approaches
An ideal candidate is likely to be:
* An established Python programmer with prior professional experience, and some exposure to both Windows and macOS
* Familiar with databases, preferably MySQL
* Self-motivated, with a desire to make improvements to things
* A clear communicator, methodical and rigorous, with a logical approach to problem solving
* Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
* Passionate and knowledgeable about music, audio technology, and recording
Experience of some of the following would also be useful:
* Continuous Integration (CI) and Version Control Systems (preferably Git)
* Agile development approaches (e.g. Scrum)
* Basic C++ syntax, and the JUCE framework
* Relevant test frameworks, e.g. Behave, or Cucumber
