Our established client is currently looking to recruit a Senior Systems Engineer on an initial 6 month contract.

The successful candidate will have previous experience supporting Infrastructure Services and be confident working with Windows and Linux Operating Systems. You will have a strong understanding of Enterprise technologies, have worked with Linux OS and Windows Server OS (installation, support, maintenance) and have worked with server and storage virtualisation platforms. Within the role you will support the Senior Manager of Technical Services tasked with moving tasks forwards, assist with supporting the server and storage virtualisation estate and will undertake the following responsibilities –

Key Responsibilities

* To produce Infrastructure documentation including drawing technical network diagrams.

* To produce documentation of common procedures, especially those related to disaster recovery and business continuity.

* Assisting with cyber-security patching and updating servers where required.

* Assist with the deployment of transformation projects within the infrastructure to build a cohesive and ‘fit for purpose’ deployment.

* To provide support for the technology 'backbone' – its data centre and network. To implement and maintain server configurations, network configurations and storage environments to facilitate the needs of the faculty.

* The role holder will adapt their documentation accordingly to its intended audience’s technical familiarity.

* To handle requests allocated to them from the Infrastructure Services service management incident and requests system.
