Criticalis is looking for a skilled Security & Systems Engineer to join our team. Most work is carried out remotely; there will be occasional travel to clients’ sites when needed. Participation as part of an on-call rota will be required.

About the role:

As Security & Systems Engineer you will combine your knowledge of the security landscape and the tools which are used to monitor and mitigate against cyber threats, to provide insight and assurance to Criticalis clients. The role covers broad aspects of security with the opportunity to get involved in diverse projects, alongside BAU activities, utilising leading vendor technologies, liaising with specialists in cybersecurity and engineers to C-level execs within our clients.

What you’ll be doing:

* Managing, maintaining and assessing the output of firewalls,vulnerability scans and endpoint security software.

* Conducting vulnerability assessments and providing remediation guidance for clients.

* Communication of security issues, describing technical and non-technical findings in a way to suit your audience

* Managing the ticket queue and troubleshooting technical issues through to resolution.

* Ongoing patching, upgrades, tools maintenance activities as well as maintaining documentation.

* Driving ongoing improvements to the clients security posture and communicating status and risks in service reviews.

* Security posture improvement initiatives

* Travel to client site for projects/meetings/installations, etc

* Participate on on-call rota

Who you are:

* An inquisitive and analytical mindset

* A strong interest and enthusiasm for information security and emerging threat

* Understanding of network protocols and experience in analysis tools such as Wireshark

* Experience of analysing data such as firewall logs, endpoint security alerts and CVE’s

* Proactive, dedicated, enthusiastic, flexible, problem solver demonstrating initiative.

Required Experience:

* Expected to obtain vendor certifications where not already held
