About the role
The IT Security Operations & Incident Lead will be responsible for managing and expanding the IT Security team that will work in collaboration with Group IT functions and the third-party Security Operations Centre (SOC), ensuring IT security controls are in place to protect the business against cyber threats. You will be proactively managing and expanding the coverage of technical IT security controls across the business and establishing the required processes and procedures to maintain optimal performance, while also having responsibility for the management, communication, escalation, investigation and resolution of all IT Security incidents.
Relationships will play a huge part in your success in this position. You’ll build working relationships with the wider IT function, suppliers, Group Legal and Group Comms to coordinate responses to security incidents, while also working with third parties like the Security Operations Centre and a Digital Forensic Team to develop a well-rounded service.
We will also expect you to monitor dashboards and reports to identify potential threats and suspicious activity, and review alerts generated by detection infrastructure. This will lead into work on the constant improvement of our IT security controls and the way we identify and manage incidents, always maintaining compliance with data governance policies (GDPR, DPO, etc).
About you
* Experience leading teams, ideally in a large, complex organisation
* High level of expertise in IT Security, with current knowledge of security solutions, processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors
* Experience securing network technologies, client, and server operating systems
* Ability to develop security standards based on best practices and industry standards
* Holder of a recognised IT Security qualification (CISSP, Certified Ethical Hacker, SANS GIA Certified Forensic Analyst, etc)
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills – able to build relationships with teams and stakeholders inside and outside of Group IT
* Excellent presentation and written communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure, analysing situations before prioritising and coming up with a solution to any challenges
* Understands common security standards and regulations (PCI, DSS, ISO2700x, etc)
