Overview – Network & Infrastructure Engineer

A market leading manufacturer within the Aerospace industry is currently seeking a Network & Infrastructure Engineer to make significant contribution to the performance, security and reliability of the Infrastructure and play a key role in the implementation of continuous improvement of network and infrastructure tasks/projects.

Responsibilities – Network & Infrastructure Engineer

* To make significant contribution to the design and implementation of change projects to build resilient and secure networks and infrastructure

* To recommend and implement improvements with reference to secure network methods and risk management to address vulnerabilities across the LAN and WAN infrastructure.

* To test, monitor and report on the network performance, threat status, operating availability and resolve any support issues and vulnerabilities.

* To implement manage and monitor Network Access Controls for devices on the corporate LAN.

* To ensure the network is configured and fully tested to reduce the attack surface from malicious threats and disruptive events.

* To work in a Microsoft infrastructure and operating environment providing the respective services which underpin all essential business systems. This includes Active directory, DNS, DHCP, MS Azure and o365 technologies.

* The scope of this role covers Unified Communications as well as the LAN, WAN, VPN, WLAN site interconnectivity and data centre network architecture.

* To ensure all network systems are kept up to date and deployed with a ‘hardened’ configuration.

* Ensure all changes to live systems adhere to Change Management Policy and Procedure.

* The role will also involve the installation of hardware, operating systems, software and the creation of the respective documentation and procedures.

* Experience of Enterprise Storage platforms such as NetApp is beneficial to support the underline Hyper-V and VMware infrastructure.

Experience required – Network & Infrastructure Engineer

* IP networking and routing protocols

* Firewalls Cisco ASA/Checkpoint and Juniper SRX.

* Remote VPN Cisco AnyConnect,

* LAN / WAN STP, Port security, routing concept, HP Switches.

* Network monitoring – Solarwinds, syslog, Wireshark

* Unified communications technologies

* Experience of Microsoft infrastructure including Microsoft Azure and o365

* Experience of cyber security
