Our market-leading client is looking to secure the services of a hands-on Network Engineer – Security Analyst to join their team based in Milton Keynes on a permanent basis.
The Network Engineer – Security Analyst sits as a key member of the technical team and is accountable for the development and delivery of security of active service portfolio, encompassing skills that include system & network administration, log analysis, and general project management.
Key responsibilities of a Network Engineer – Security Analyst will include:
* Support architecture and engineering in conducting design, feasibility & cost studies.
* Support the testing and rollout of innovative solutions into a full production environment.
* Keep up to date with developing threats that may become impactful and deploy mitigating measures.
* Identify and augment existing solutions as required.
* Incrementally improve network monitoring and operational excellence.
* Act as the point of escalation for network issues from Tier2 NOC & support development of a Tier3.
Skills & experience of a Network Engineer – Security Analyst:
* Experience of security audits together with prioritisation and clearance of any exceptions.
* Working knowledge and understanding of Service Provider networks.
* Experience of SIEM, SOAR, NDR etc.
* Security frameworks and guidelines such as PCI DSS, NIST, CCISP, NCSC etc.
* Demonstrable experience of one or more programmatic approaches: Ansible, Python, REST, NetConf/ YANG etc.
* Network monitoring systems.
* Strong understanding of security principles in a multi-vendor, zero trust environments
* Strong understanding of stateful firewalls, IDS/IDP, and other security technologies
* Good understanding of layer 2 technologies, with an emphasis on ethernet.
* Experience of alternate operating and process methodologies
