About the role:

As our Lead Data Architect, you will be responsible for initiating and leading the design and implementation of a new data platform which will be the single source for all analytic and reporting queries.This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of the growing ‘data’ market.

Key duties and responsibilities of our Lead Data Architect:

– Consult, lead, and perform analysis and design of large, complex applications, and business processes, re-engineering processes where required to support MDM/Big Data implementations

– Act as internal subject matter expert in the evolving landscape of enterprise analytics. Report on and research emerging market trends and risks inherent in current solutions and architectures.  Also, maintain a domain roadmap that can adapt to changes in business demands

– Focus on identifying the underlying data issues using the right Data Quality tools

– Driving the initiation and delivery of programmes and projects as well as developing  architecture, to drive the efficient and effective use of data across the organisation

– Define and contribute to the analysis of master data requirements, data integration, and performing complex data mapping activities

– Advising on how to adopt modern Data patterns, e.g. transition to a Data Lake

– Ensuring visibility and traceability of data architecture progress and challenges

– Researching, implementing and adopting best practices in alignment with the evolution of Data technologies

– Developing repeatable processes to ensure effective and efficient delivery of services

– Deploy and support leading-edge analytics solutions including hardware, software, end-user tools and other data services

– Diligently teaming with the cloud infrastructure, network, database, application and business intelligence teams to guarantee high data quality and availability.

What we are looking for in our ideal Lead Data Architect:

– Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with upwards of 10 years industry related professional work experience

– Experience of all aspects of the SDLC, in the MDM / Data Quality / Business Analytics space

– Experience with data architectures and cloud based data environments

– Knowledge and experience of structured, semi-structured, unstructured data and of data platforms, such as relational database systems, data warehouse or other OLAP systems

– Experience in enterprise environments including the Hadoop ecosystem with knowledge of Apache Hive, NoSQL platforms

– Experience with Operational Processes (capacity Planning, Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Control Management) and associated process documentation creation, i.e. Capacity Plans, Runbooks, Escalation plans and other operational documentation

– Experienced with data governance and security

– Experience in delivering enterprise-level ETL pipelines, data workflows, migrations and lifecycles

– Experience with design, management, implementation of Backup, Disaster Recovery and/or High Availability solutions

– Knowledge of ITIL processes

– Fluent knowledge of English, spoken and written. Other language skills (Dutch, German, Spanish, French and Italian) would be a distinct advantage
