We are recruiting on behalf of our client who is a leading provider of weighing, labelling and food processing equipment into the retail and manufacturing industries. As a junior software technician, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects and works ensuring device configuration and software is correct prior to ordering to ensure the customer experience is flawless.

You will provide 1st line support to the service and sales teams, as well as providing updates to our UK based customers. You must be IT competent and have an interest in software, entry level development would be advantageous.

Experience or interest in any language will be considered but a technical mindset and a problem-solving attitude is essential as this role is pivotal to the solutions team of the business.

Due to the nature of the role and requirements to at times visit customer sites using a pool vehicle, a valid UK driving licence is essential for this role.

This is a permanent position, working hours primarily between 8:30am – 5:30pm. This role is office based initially and the salary for the role will pay between £26,000 – £30,000 depending on experience.

However, the role can evolve into a home/office hybrid position once training has been completed.

Job specification

•Co-ordination and accountability of retail projects mainly software.

•Liaising with workshops and project coordinators to ensure a trouble-free install experience for customers and service engineers.

•Support the service and sales teams in offer related activities.

•Involvement during the ordering process providing advice to colleagues to ensure equipment is ordered correctly.

•Inspection and Setup of devices prior to delivery for install – ensuring correct specification is met as per technical analysis.

•Identify where mistakes/errors may have occurred within ordering process.

•Identify and escalate any issue that exposes service delivery to risk.

•Providing Feedback and reports where needed.

•Keep up to date records of all installs with follow up actions.

•Manage the revision of internal process documentation and update accordingly e.g. ‘how to guides’,

•Induction packs and training materials.

•Provide project administrative support.

•Make recommendations on operational working practices.

•Primarily office based but making site visits if needed to attend project meeting and site surveys ensuring projects and customer requirements are met prior to quoting and ordering.

•Providing First Line Support to Field/Internal staff by phone and remote connection where needed.
