We are recruiting on behalf of our client with a global presence for a junior IT software specialist who would be the "go to person" for any software related matters. Our client is a leading provider of weighing solutions and support for the retail and industrial sectors.

This is an opportunity to progress your career with a global organisation who have a reputation for surpassing expectations, developing individuals and producing leading products with impressive support functions. You will play an integral part in the continued development and sales support for the software of their products.

For the successful applicant, you will immediately be a key figure in communications with Europe. Knowledge of script such as C# C++ or similar is essential for this role.

Job Specification

* Provide 1st line support to Field Service Engineers

* Minor development work and changes to the software when required for customers.

* Maintaining of databases.

* Extraction of data.

* Client installation either on-site or remotely.

* Server moves.

* SQL scripting

* Excel/CSV file manipulation for customer data

* Windows OS rebuilding, driver setups and software config, for touch screens systems.

* Working closely with the sales team to implement software and guide the sales team when required on any technical advice.

* Implementation and support of software packages

* Provide a first class system support service to the sales team.

* Plan and carry out customer/internal training, produce training documentation.

* Produce equipment maintenance routines

* Investigate technical issues/warranty failures/in field failure.

This role will be primarily office based however travel will be required occasionally to customer sites throughout the UK. The package includes healthcare options, pension and holiday entitlement increase as well as a company vehicle.

Overtime may be required and this is paid at an additional rate as well as a yearly bonus scheme.
