The Position:
Working as a GIS Consultant your main responsibilities will be:
·Applying the ArcGIS Platform for education and research
·Use of emerging technology to solve problems
·Expanding the reach of GIS into new subject areas
·Engage with researchers, partnering with them and advising on projects
·Champion the use of GIS to tackle research questions
·Create robust learning materials to support users for both face to face engagement and e-learning
·Collaborate with other teams to develop additional resources to support our customers learning, software adoption and growth
·Keep up to date with changes to the ArcGIS platform, understanding how it can be applied to solve problems
·Encourage the use of Jupyter notebooks, machine learning, AI, Big Data, Python, R, JavaScript API and data visualization
About you:
We are keen to consider candidates with experience of the following:
·A strong working knowledge of the ArcGIS Platform (essential) and a passion for GIS
·A Geospatial related degree, ideally to Master’s level
·Experience of deploying code to solve geospatial problems and a knowledge of how this is used in academia
·Python coding and / or JavaScript and the ability to work with large datasets
·Strong relationship building skills, with the ability to communicate and influence people
·Confident communicator with strong customer facing skills

The location
You will be home based but will be expected to conduct regular travel (current Driving Licence required) to visit UK offices and client sites/universities around the UK and Ireland to meet with colleagues and customers
