About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Solutions Architect to join us and work on establishing the next generation of data delivery solutions to help our business become more efficient and productive. You will be working with various teams and key stakeholders to understand what information is required and how it can be used for analysis and reporting, before using our resources to gather that information into a single source of truth.

Some of the other responsibilities you’ll undertake include acting as a trusted advisor to leaders in the business to develop a clear understanding of business needs, ensuring effective design and implementation of IT solutions to meet those needs. In addition to this, external technical partners will play a vital role in your success so you will be forging strong working relationships and leading these partners on a regular basis. You will lead the generation of technology road maps and ensure the integration with overall IT plans, and go onto ensure solution delivery in line with that vision.

We’re looking for someone who can inspire innovation and continue to seek out opportunities for improvement – a confident individual who can take complex, technical subjects and make them easy to understand so that teams across the organisation can get behind your designs and keep improving the DS Smith offering.

About you

* Significant experience working in an IT function in a large, complex business, ideally with leadership responsibility

* Ability to form strong working relationships with stakeholders and present ideas to them in a user-friendly language

* Deep understanding of Data and BI solutions, especially cloud-based solutions

* Proven experience in adaptable solution design across complex application landscapes

* Capability to lead transformational IT programmes

* Waterfall and Agile methodology experience

* Excellent written/verbal communication skills – additional European languages would be an advantage
