We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to provide enterprise-level assistance to our customers. You will diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems.
Technical Support Engineer responsibilities include resolving network issues, configuring operating systems and applications on PC's, Laptops, Mobile Phone and Mobile devices. You will use email and chat applications to give users quick answers to simple IT issues. For more complex problems that require advanced instruction, you will contact local Senior staffs or HQ IT services Team via phone, Chat messaging and/or provide clear, written instructions and technical manuals.
To be qualified for this role, you should hold a NVQ3/HND/HNC/bachelor’s degree, like Computer Science, IT or Software Engineering with 2-3 years industry experience. Microsoft, Cisco, Linux or similar certification is a plus. If you’re naturally a helper, enjoy assisting people with computer issues and are able to explain technical details simply, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, you will be a person our customer’s trust. They will rely on you to provide timely and accurate solutions to their technical problems.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Including Decision Making, Complexity and Contact with others
• Escalating IT issues to the IT manager where necessary.
• Responsible for managing backups.
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
• Undertaking small- to medium-sized IT projects as instructed by the IT manager.
• Providing desktop and server support
. • Configure new laptops, desktops, Mobile Phones, Mobile devices, and computer peripheral devices.
• Install & configure authorised software in laptop’s, PC’s, and mobile devices.
• Install & configure Linux Servers and Desktops if necessary.
• Ensuring security and upgrades are applied on all PC’s, laptops.
• Antivirus installation to all PC’s, laptops, and Mobile devices.
• Fault finding to laptops and PC’s, Mobile phone and Mobile devices.
• Reporting faults and maintaining logs on servers, PC’s, and laptops.
• Patching of network and phones
. • Making of Cat 5e/Cat 6a network cables where necessary.
• Ensuring all logs for equipment and users are maintained.
• Creating purchase requisitions for IT hardware/software.
• Ensuring licensing for all software purchased is recorded and maintained.
• MS Office Outlook mailbox maintenance including archiving mailboxes.
• Setting up new users and disabling expired accounts in accordance with HR requirements.
• Working together with HR to ensure staff IT training requirements have been met.
• Provide support for Windows PCs.
• IT Hardware Asset audit and stock maintenance.
• Provide support for the Warehouse Management system.
• Working extra hours to meet deadlines, as required and where reasonable.
• Provide assistance as required to the IT Manager
• Provide assistance and support to colleagues in IT-related matters
• Ensuring that a high level of customer service and support is provided to all internal and external customers.
Experience:
2-3 years industry experience.
• Impressive communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Good knowledge of the latest IT Technology
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Assist the IT manager for IT Project Management
Worker will be working 40 hours a week and should be willing to commit to one weekend day a week
