About the role:
Are you an enthusiastic individual who has a passion to get into the world of IT development? The ideal candidate for this apprenticeship is for someone who is looking to kick start their career as an IT Developer Apprentice.
The lucky apprentice will be assisting our client’s IT team in providing support in all phases of the software development lifecycle including gathering and analysing business system requirements to creating, testing and maintaining application, web and other digital systems across the business.

Requirements and prospects
What they’re looking for:
* Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and ability to contribute at all stages of this
* Able to apply structured techniques to problem solving, can debug code and understand the structure of programmes in order to identify and resolve issues
* The ability to write good quality code with sound syntax in at least one language from the following C++ PHP, C# net or similar
* Familiarity with Microsoft products
* Knowledge of producing web applications using programming languages such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and API's.
* Have a functional knowledge of design experience using Web Services (REST, SOAP)
* Awareness of relational databases and data analysis
* Ability to maintain clear, concise records

Desired qualification
Must have a minimum of 3 A Levels A-C grades (including a computing related discipline)
Future aspirations
This is a small development team working within a larger IT team to deliver innovative and transformative projects using latest technology. Once you have been confirmed from your fixed term contract, to a permanent contract you will be appointed as an IT Developer and have the opportunity to do your L6 in IT development.
Things to consider:
18-month fixed term contract. During this time, you will have 20% off the job learning, which is 1 day a week with the training provider and 4 days a week in the office. You will have the opportunity to work from home.
Please be aware once you have been selected after the assessment day, there will be a pre-interview with Whitehat before an offer is made.
