We're recruiting for an experienced IT Assistant on behalf of our client based in Milton Keynes. Reporting to the IT Manager with the view to enhancing the levels of service and support provided by IT in general.
The purpose of the role is to provide support and technical assistance across all areas of the company’s IT environment. The primary function will be to provide support to approximately 150 colleagues, initially focusing on the Field Service operations but quickly expanding to include all users within the business and support of the infrastructure in general (e.g. printers, hardware, servers, software).
The role will be key to ensuring that adequate levels of support are maintained across two main sites in Milton Keynes and Stafford in addition to field-based colleagues whilst various projects are completed successfully.
Main Accountabilities:

Undertake tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the various IT systems, assist on project work and eventually take ownership of certain functions within the IT infrastructure

Provide 1st and 2nd line support to users, taking ownership of problems through to resolution
*
Troubleshoot hardware, Windows, Microsoft Office, printing, and software problems
*
Mobile Device Management
*
Creation, edit, and deletion of user accounts (both AD and software)
*
Setup of new equipment using imaging and/or MDM software
*
Software patching (e.g. WSUS, AV) and upgrades
*
Arrange the collection and repair of faulty equipment, issuing temporary units where required
*
SAP ‘key user’ duties for field service operations, incl. software testing and training
Other duties:
Preparation of reports using Excel from SAP
Ad-hoc staff training
Periodic checks to ensure compliance with PCI and/or security requirements
Provide assistance to support projects where required
Ad-hoc SAP checks to ensure efficient processing of data
With a head office in Germany and closer integration on the horizon, it will be a requirement to work closely both with UK and German members of staff at all levels within the company. We currently support a small number of users in Australia, South Africa, and Sweden. Overseas travel will not be required.
Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:
A minimum of 12 months recent experience within an IT support environment
Windows 10 and MS Office
Active Directory
Hardware troubleshooting
Good knowledge of Excel (incl. v-lookups)
Excellent written and verbal communication
Desirable skills, knowledge, and experience:
Microsoft or other IT certification
Knowledge of SAP ERP
Windows Server 2016/2019
Microsoft 365, Azure AD
Basic understanding of networking
MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit)
