IT Architect | Permanent Opportunity | Milton Keynes/Flexible | £45,000 – £65,000 per annum + excellent benefits
Role Summary:
As IT Architect, and a member of the IT Team, you will co-lead the P3M IT Centre of Excellence with the PMO/Project Control Information Asset Owner (IAO), and work with your other IT colleagues to help to define the best IT Technology Architecture to support the Company’s objectives and in particular the key objective to build ‘better, cheaper, quicker’.
The P3M Domain Architecture maintains the IT for the following critical processes:
• Schedule Management
• Costs Management
• Risks & Issues Management
• Contract Management
• Document Control
• Change Management
• P3M Reporting
The role will lead on the IT / Digital components of:
• Managing the P3M IT Centre of Excellence, gathering requirements from the P3M Information Asset Owner (IAO) and the IT experts respectively in charge of: Data Architecture, IT Project Delivery, IT Support and Quality, and IT Strategy
• Mapping and the ownership of the As-Is IT Architecture in the P3M Domain, in particular to document, identify the Application and Technology layers, identify weaknesses and opportunities
• Translation of the future business needs for P3M into a To-Be Architecture
• Definition and design of IT Technology solutions to fill in the gaps between As-Is and To-Be IT Architectures
• Provision and implementation of recommendations based on current best practice and 3rd Party solution alternatives
• Definition of an achievable roadmap of implementation taking into account the business requirements but also external (e.g. technological, political, supply chain) and internal (e.g. project management resource, budget, priorities) constraints; in agreement with the General Manager of IT Strategy & Infrastructure who is in charge of the IT Roadmap implementation on time, quality, and budget,
• Implementation of Business Intelligence reporting in the P3M area
• Representing my client in relevant industry forums
The functional area will grow in the future to encompass other critical domains such as: Corporate/Finance, Commercial & HR, Health/Safety/Security/Quality
Support
• To support the Data Architect with the definition of the As-Is and To-Be Data Architectures and with Data Modelling activities.
• To support the General Manager – IT Strategy & Infrastructure with overall IT Architecture and IT Strategy
• Tasks delegated by the Head of IT Strategy & Architecture
• The deployment of the Information Roadmap

Skills:
• IT Architecture skills (Certification in an architecture framework a plus, but not mandatory)
• Cloud technologies

Education:
• Educated to B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or other discipline with experience in IT
Experience:
• 3 or more years’ experience within P3M or construction
• 3 or more years’ experience in Systems Architecture
• Familiarity with the P3M toolset including Oracle P6, ARES Prism, Sword ARM, Oracle Unifier, etc (preferred but not mandatory)
• Familiarity with reporting tools including PowerBI and Azure
• Experience with enterprise integration tools
• Experience, though certification is not essential, in SCRUM or Lean
• Familiarity with Data modelling tools like Sparx EA, SAP PowerDesigner, Erwin
