Infrastructure Support Technician
Temporary for 6 weeks – to start immediately!
Office based – standard office hours
Salary: £10.77 per hour – £12.82 per hour (depending on experience)
Ascendant Recruitment are excited to be recruiting on behalf of their prestigous client, located in Olney. We are recruiting for an engaged & energetic Infrastructure Support Technician to start as soon as possible. This will initially be a 6-week temporary contract, however there may be the potential for the contract to be extended depending on business requirements.
This role will be office based (not home working). Due to the location of the office a driving licence may be essential (as our client's premises is not very public transport friendly!)
Responsibilities of Infrastructure Support Technician:
monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
talk staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face, over the phone or IM, to help set up systems or resolve issues
troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
replace parts as required
provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
support the roll-out of new applications
set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
respond within agreed time limits
work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
test and evaluate new technology
logging and processing support calls
installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance upgrades
setting up accounts for staff, ensuring that they know how to log in
solving password problems
responding to breakdowns
investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults
repairing equipment and replacing parts
obtaining replacement or specialist components, fixtures or fittings
maintaining records of software licences
managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies
Skills/ experience required:
Windows Server (Apply online only)
Office 365 administration and configuration
Active Directory and Group Policies
Antivirus and Backups
Firewalls, Switches and Routers
Experience with SalesForce is highly advantageous
