The Role
The Group has an extensive multi-year information security improvement programme covering a wide range of improvement areas – culture change, information governance, supply chain security, IT security solutions and operational technology security solutions. The programme has been broken down into distinct projects with approximately 20 projects prioritised for 2020 delivery.
This business analyst role is for a 6-month period initially but may extend beyond this. The role may be assigned to any Information Security project, but is specifically to support the Export Controlled Information (ECI) Protection programme. The role holder will perform various analyses to (i) stress-test the ECI Protection strategy to ensure its practicable across the entire Group, and (ii) support the shaping and planning of business changes and solutions required to implement the strategy.
The key responsibilities of this role will be:
• Develop ‘as-is’ and ‘to-be’ user journeys (high-level processes) for selected ECI use-cases and personas, for the management of ECI throughout the data lifecycle.
• Identify ECI capability gaps in terms of people/processes/systems.
• Create detailed business requirements, outlining problems and opportunities. Ensure that all regulatory aspects are considered.
• Liaise with IT and Information Security Architects to input to the design of potential solutions.
• Support organisational design in terms of mapping roles & responsibilities for the management of ECI and assess the impact of business changes.
• Engage with all key stakeholders needed to deliver the project successfully.
• Articulate how the project(s) will meet the risk mitigation objectives.
• Support the project manager to initiate projects inputting objectives, costs and timescales to the overall plan.
• This role reports to the Group CISO and is based full time at Stoke Poges (working from home during Covid-19 lockdown). Occasional travel may be required.
• Successful candidates must be UK nationals and may be required to achieve and maintain SC clearance.
Job requirements
Vocational Qualifications:
• Relevant experience of working in a cyber / IT project capacity.
• Proven ability to deliver quality business requirements.
• Experience of working in a global organisation delivering projects through a matrix relationship.
Experience required:
• Demonstrable experience of strong business analysis with a focus on delivery.
• Ideally, experience of working with and understanding information classification regulations.
• A background in delivering cyber and IT projects will be beneficial.
