Role Info:
Field Customer Service Engineer
Based between Luton and Northampton (M1 corridor and surrounding areas)
£25,000 – £27,000 plus on call allowance (OTE £30,000)
Plus Benefits + company vehicle + phone + laptop

The Field Customer Service Engineer Role:
You will travel to our customers' businesses to perform equipment and system repairs. Your responsibilities include travelling to customers' locations, remotely accessing equipment, and performing routine maintenance. You will install and test our solutions and provide customers with instructions on the proper usage of the product. You would be responsible for assisting in the design of new systems, organising and carrying out survey works and associated reports and any other pre or post sales support as required.
To be successful as a Customer Service Engineer, it is required that you have excellent technical and interpersonal skills. You should have experience with basic hand, power, and diagnostic tools, and you should be physically fit to lift heavy equipment. You would need excellent organisational skills and would need to be capable of producing high level reports for works undertaken.

The Engineering Team is a small geographically spread-out team so being able to work alone is a must but our Engineers also work together to help one another on tasks.
Key Functions:
+ Plan/install/maintain systems to the highest possible standards at all times, ensuring that all Company and legislated health and safety rules and policies are adhered to at all times.
+ Be responsible for the provision of a Project Installation Plan, Risk and Method Statement and Statement of Works to identify:
++ System schematics
++ Customer obligations and works
++ Project meetings with customers and sales staff
++ Training and/or briefings required
++ Specialist resources required
+ Be the technical point of contact for customers within the region to discuss technical issues, ensuring that any issues are highlighted and discussed with your line manager where necessary or resolved directly.
+ Liaise with agencies/other company representatives both on site and third parties to ensure the smooth installation/operation of those systems.
+ Assist company sales staff in all technical/non-technical aspects relating to suitability, specification, configuration and support of equipment, vetting pre-order documentation for equipment suitability and prediction of installation times.
About You:
+ An HNC or higher in IT or Telecoms. Specific courses on VOIP, networking or other telecoms.
+ Strong background in IT Networking, Server 2012/2016/2019 Telecoms PABX, Linux e.g. Ubuntu LTS. Understanding of Protocols e.g. RS232 or API’s, Remote Desktop, Firewalls.
+ You’ll have excellent technical and interpersonal skills, and be able to converse well with customers and other engineers.
+ You’ll be able to solve problems and think through alternative solutions.
+ You should have experience with basic hand, power, and diagnostic tools, and you should be physically fit to lift test equipment.
+ You’ll be self motivated, with the ability to work within a team to influence and motivate goals and objectives.
+ You’ll be calm and effective under pressure who is able to manage time and priorities.
+ Excellent organisational skills and the ability to produce high level reports for works undertaken is essential.
