Permanent role for an ERP Project Manager, based anywhere in the UK. This would suit a PM who enjoys using project management processes and methodologies to their advantage, and has lots of energy and enthusiasm. It is a first-class opportunity for an ERP Project Manager to work for a global software author, who are financially solid, continuing to expand and who offer great career prospects. Salary to £60k, + 10% bonus and car allowance of £6,400.00, plus the benefits package is pretty amazing. The job is based from home anywhere in the UK; Milton Keynes is a pinpoint.
Some of the projects are over 1,000 days and so there are multiple stakeholders, multiple sponsors and inevitably different groups with different goals, timescales and objectives. So you will be someone who follows the budget, watches the costs and is very strong on the overview of large ERP projects. Then, of course, the job involves the day to day issues of consultants, clients, resource, requirements and all the other things that need to be kept up to date.
You will need to have managed multiple ERP software projects as you will be dealing with clients across all business areas, so strength in core functional areas like finance, manufacturing and distribution is going to be incredibly useful. Experience in a client facing PM role for a software author or reseller, is essential.
This job benefits from the resources of a 70 person consulting team, and a project management team of 10, plus support staff to help you. You will have enough autonomy to do things your way, you will have a huge amount of freedom. They have a policy of "hire great people and trust them". When you think you need help, you will need to ask for it.
As a PM here you will typically work on 2 large ERP projects at once, and probably a few smaller at the same time. So, expect two x 200 day + projects and a few 20-50 day projects. They like PM's to have a variety of clients so they don't "go native". More than this you will be a commercial Project Manager with the ability to effectively handle conflict and obstruction encountered with change management during software implementations, and to deal confidently with client problems when they arise.
You can be home based anywhere in the UK. There is less travel than the consulting roles so you will be on client site 2 or 3 days a week – it is up to you, as long as you are keeping on top of your projects, the stakeholders and sponsors. Your focus will be on the professional delivery of their ERP solutions to their client base, following company structured methodologies, making sure the customer has the highest level of satisfaction, and ensuring profitability and referencing for the company. Their software is large scale and has 100's of modules, so ideally you will have worked with large ERP solutions such as Dynamics NAV / Business Central, Epicor, Infor, Sage X3, IFS, Syspro, Dynamics AX, Deltek, JDE, Oracle, Odoo, NetSuite or similar.
The job will cover the usual delivery of projects on time and to budget, managing scope, variations, creep and project status, controlling risks, managing and allocating resources including the implementation consultants, reporting progress to the client, setting up project costing and reports, reviewing monthly cost and time bookings, monitoring invoicing for maintenance charges, and reporting to the project steering group.
They are looking for someone who is energetic and ambitious, highly communicative, creative with processes and solutions, confident and outgoing, and is a career focused Project Manager. If you have worked with structured methods or have formal project management qualifications, so much the better.
They have an outstanding portfolio of clients, some of the best technical expertise in the ERP market and an open management style. The number of staff here who have been with the company for over 10 years, is testament to the superb working environment and career prospects.
