We are currently working in partnership with a high profile government sponsored national project in the Milton Keynes area. They are seeking a Desktop Support Analyst.

The Role

This is an opportunity for a Desktop Support Analyst to join a busy IT support team in Milton Keynes, reporting to the IT Manager. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive and efficient service to all projects and company employees. You will carry out all aspects of IT administration from desktop and end user support to basic maintenance of servers and network devices /services.

You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, working as part of a four-person IT support team in an open plan office with strict Covid guidelines, under the technical leadership of the Senior Technical Support Analyst to deliver integrated and effective holistic IT services and solutions to the companies operation.

The role will involve semi-shift working, covering extended hours early or late as necessary in a rota pattern. The role involves providing paid on-call cover overnight in the same rota pattern.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

·In-depth knowledge and experience in PC/laptop physical hardware set-up and maintenance

·In-depth knowledge and experience in desktop software configuration, including Windows 10 and working with OUs and Group Policies.

·Experience of writing PowerShell scripts

·Strong knowledge and experience in MS Office applications, including strong skills in Excel

·Strong knowledge of Office 365 administration.

·Basic working knowledge of installation and administration of windows server 2019

·Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role

·Provide whole back and front end service, see issue through from start to finish

Desirable Experience

·Microsoft certification in desktop or server system support.

·In depth experience of installation and administration of Windows Server 2019.

·Working knowledge of basic network technologies such as IP/DHCP, Wi-Fi, VPN, switch port management
