Security Clearance: SC clearance – not needed before starting
Location: Normal office locations in Milton Keynes and/or Euston (based on workstream) – Due to COVID-19 initially the successful candidate will work from home

Job Spec Summary
Works with operational and project teams to handle and analyse data that enter or exit line of business systems, business intelligence systems or 'data warehouses'. Performs and supports transition, transformation and delivery on a variety of initiatives such as Data cleansing, Advanced Analytics solutions and Data Migrations.
Key Objectives
Achieve the successful delivery of the proposed Data solution
Combine the activities of a Data team to ensure that the deliverables are consistent, logical and justifiable
Understand the technical problems, challenges and complexities that exist within each stream or area of a project and be able to manage and/or liaise with other technical stream leads to arrive at an integrated technical solution that meets the business requirements.
Support the Solutions/Data Architect to develop and enhance standards, policies/guidelines whilst driving adoption of standards.
Be able to express complex ideas to both non-technical and technical audiences
Manage key stakeholder expectations
Perform peer reviews, audits, standards compliance checks and due diligence as required
Support the project stakeholders in understanding the technical risks, dependencies and issues that exist, be able to quantify these and the impact that they may have on the project / programme.
Report delivery progress and status to both internal and external stakeholders
Essential Experience/Skills:
Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall delivery
Thorough and up to date understanding of data analysis approaches, tools and techniques including (Use Cases, Conceptual Data modelling, BPMN)
Exceptional analytical skills with keen attention to detail
Ability to rapidly acquire and simulate subject matter expertise of Network Rail systems and data.
Deep technical expertise gained from extensive hands-on experience
Adherence to code standards, leverage industry standards and other reusable code components
Skill in efficient coding and implementing changes.
ETL and Data elements development based on technical design and user stories
Creation of detailed design documents
Participate in all stages of the Data & Analytics projects
Reviewing and ensuring quality and consistency of deliverables
Desired Experience/Skills:
Experience within the Utilities and / or Rail sector
Experienced in EA Sparx and Jira
Analytical thinking with very good capacity to dig into data, understand and give suggestions for solving data problems.
Any experience in Advance Analytics projects, involving Real/Near Real time data solutions, machine learning, IOT, big data or cloud technologies, would be valuable.
Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience in BI Data Modelling, ETL Tools and BI Reporting Tools.
Technical risk identification and management.
