Job Title Senior Backend Engineer
Our Client provides a seamless way for hospitality venues to interact with their customers through one solution that provides many associated services needed for both traditional service and quick service restaurants. This ground-breaking ordering and mobile app and solutions platform delivers increased opportunities for both consumers and businesses. It is a dynamic mobile technology company specialising in innovative use of mobile and cloud technologies to simplify and speed up consumer / merchant interaction.
The Role:
You will be responsible for taking over the backend of an MVP version of LoPay, adding new features and ensuring the product can scale for its imminent worldwide launch, with the support of the wider backend team You will also be required to contribute to the web frontend, which is built in React.
Tech stack details:
The LoPay backend has been written in NodeJs/Typescript and deployed to Heroku for the MVP phase. The backend uses Postgres to store data and Redis for caching. The web app has been built in React and is currently hosted on netlify for the MVP phase. There are also IOS and Android apps built by the mobile team.
Required Skills and Experience:
● Node.js/TypeScript
● React with TypeScript
● SQL (postgres) and noSQL (dynamoDb, redis) databases
● Docker and Kubernetes
● AWS services – RDS, EKS, SQS, S3, Lambda
● Test driven development (TDD
● Git & GitHub
● Experience with Continuous Integration & Deployment
● Experience working with payment providers
● Experience working with open banking (nice to have)
Other required skills:
● Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate complex and technical information clearly.
● Confidence to challenge ideas/requirements to ensure the best solution is chosen to solve a problem
● Organisation skills to manage projects and meet deadlines where required
